Founded in Germany in 1993 LORENTZ has pioneered, innovated and excelled in the engineering and manufacturing of solar powered water pumping since 1993.
With over 20 years’ industry experience Lorentz have designed, developed and manufactured the widest range of solar pumps of any company in the world. ReAqua, an Australian-owned company run by local Gunnedah brothers Ben, Tim and Jock Lee have been working alongside Lorentz to distribute the PS2 and PSK range of solar pumps to ReAqua’s network of 200 distributors nationwide. “It’s an exciting time to be in the business. We’re on the edge of a revolution in agriculture where farmers can be less reliant on diesel and fuel price hikes,” Ben said.
“While solar pumping has been around for the better part of 20 years, it’s only just starting to be applied to irrigation for cropping and horticulture purposes. Our technology means farmers can pump for longer and more efficiently.” Mechanical, electronic and software design for Lorentz is all done in-house. These design activities are undertaken in Lorentz’s Global Headquarters and Technology Centre just outside of Hamburg, Germany. However, manufacturing is run out of two factories outside of Beijing, China – owned and operated by Lorentz since 1995.
Having the core production in Beijing allows Lorentz access to a very flexible supply chain. They focus on maintaining a high-quality standard via a unique and intensive functional test schedule on every product they make. Working alongside Lorentz has given the Lee brothers access to a wealth of knowledge and cutting-edge solar pumping solutions for livestock and small-scale irrigators all over Australia. ReAqua provides technical support and training opportunities for dealers meaning they remain up to date with the latest technology and are never left high and dry.
ReAqua have such confidence in the reliability of their pumps, they introduced an extended on-farm warranty for the Lorentz PS2 range of livestock pumps. “We introduced the 4-year on-farm warranty because we wanted dealers and their clients to understand that support doesn’t just stop once the pump is up and running. It’s on-going. Even after the 4 years are up, our local dealers as well as our Business Development Managers are still available if you have any other queries about your Lorentz solar pump,” explains Ben.
“It’s all about giving our farmers what they need. They want something reliable where they can go about their day and not worry about checking on the dam levels or making sure their old diesel generator is running,” said Ben. On top of the warranty, Lorentz’s PS2 range of solar pumps have been accredited by the Clean Energy Council of Australia. This means farmers can have the confidence that the PS2 range has been stringently tested in regards to quality and safety standards, with the range also eligible for a rebate.
“Lorentz were recently awarded the 2018 Global Solar-Powered Water Pumps Product Line Leader by Market Analyst Company Frost and Sullivan. It’s been fantastic working with such a forward-thinking company as Lorentz.”
